Anyone want to talk about some of the garbage many art galleries are dishing out?

Im trying to find a way that i can share some of the garbage i have been coming across while trying to find art gallery representation . Hey i no i am not all that but when fellow artist and I have been told over and over again that galleries don't even want to even look at are work and then turn around and sell b alls of human hair for 20,000$ i have to call it bullshit.What the hell is going on in the art world in some areas especially chelsea in New York City with almost every gallery i have come across sell stuff like hat racks you can buy at wal mart and calling it installation art and selling it for ridiculous amounts of money.Which leads me to believe from past experiences that it has more to do with wealthy people trying to rid themselves of tax funds threw some of the non profit outlets. I would be interested to here what some of you think about this and or have you experienced it yourselves.
